Here it comes now, the wisp of inspiration that comes from lack of inspiration. It rises like a ghost, invisible, yet felt all the same. It swoops around, gets behind you and creeps up to your shoulders, cloaking them like a warm blanket. It seeps into your head through every hole and pore. Shiney-bright ideas fall like snowflakes. You grab and grab, hoping to catch the best one, the one you have never seen but know to exist; alas, the heat and passion of your desires melt the snowflakes, and all that is left are diluted droplets that evaporate becoming mist once more, moving, always moving on.
I met you at spring’s first passionate sigh;
Fair skin, ruby lips; auburn locks graceful
Slow-danced amid the blushing morning sky;
'Twas then I swore always to be faithful.
I loved you at summer’s first ardent roar;
Sol-touched, emerald eyes, electric kiss
We danced at midday, hearts in concert soar;
'Twas then I swore to give you naught but bliss.
I affected you at autumn’s lament;
Brooding stare, carnelian palm, side by side
We walked, hands to ourselves, backs willow-bent;
'Twas then I swore not to succumb to pride.
I last saw you at winter's lonesome moan;
'Twas then I swore I would leave you alone.
In this breath I feel at last
the spring has come harsh season passed
with it life, a brand new start
but for us, two paths do part
I fear the dawn, with it the day
I will have to say farewell
If this night should come without an end,
would not I utter a single complaint
tis more a wish I do confess,
but thought of life without you does distress
my mind, my soul, my very core,
life and love with me no more
Still I think it is but right,
I must not linger here, with you, tonight
for grief of hearts ripped in twain
lingers too with every passing frame
I embrace you now one last time
and pray we skip the long goodbye
I shall dream of you t
In it lies a place to hide
A place to dwell and brood
Thoughts of love
And thoughts of crime
Are told and untold too
And when you near
A voice you'll hear
One that's songful as is true
Then you'll know
What tales roots show
And what green forests do
